Back Under The Car

Spent a good part of the day preparing the car is ready for the upcoming Nugget Nationals x EXE Crew at Haunted Hills Hill Climb event. As much as I tried to avoid crawling under cars too often, going underneath to change the oil isn't too bad.

First was an oil change from the factory 0w20 to a 5w30 which is supposed to be better for spirited driving and has shown to keep the oil pressure at where it needs to be when things get hot. Maybe placebo but the car felt smoother through the revs after the oil change. No complaints, any improvement even if it is mental, I'll take it! 😄

Then it was the fire extinguisher. I cheated and borrowed the mount from Jorge and the tools to fit it from Des. Thanks team! But man it was annoying when I realised the seat bolts was TORX. Seriously.

All in all, a good day and ready to do my first HH hill climb!

Using fibre washers I had lying around instead of crush washer. Also single bottles are great for filling the car, but annoying to refill with the old oil!

So much front bumper scrapage on these cars and they're not even that low! Also I never liked jacking up the car, but the Costco jack reaches the front jack point without deploying multiple jacks or ramps! Win!

So many of under body covers.

The old dirty oil.

Didn't do the oil filter this time but that's a very convenient spot!

Fancy mount and the wrong tools for the job.

Nightmare...

The only one needed from the set.

Time to eBay this E11 thing. Or replace the seat bolts.

Fitted and cleaned the mat a bit!

Now I think I should buy one of these myself. CBF making one...

Car club membership finally arrived so I can get my CAMS
