Sandown Raceway - WRX Round 2 - Brakes Destroyed

Last time here was around 7 years ago in the FD PB battling Kam in his Z.

Best part of this track is that it is only 20 minutes away from home so Kathy and Charles could easily come to visit. The kiddo loves the loud cars or "CAAARRRR!!!" in his own words.

And particularly on this occasion because after lunch, my brake pads decided to fail which almost sent me off the track at Turn 1! The drive home was rather crunchy.

Being the first time here in the BRZ, it meant default PBs! Ended the day with a 1:34.1434 with a miss-shift on the final corner. Lots left in the car to improve on here.

Default PB: 1:34.1434 with a miss-shift on the final corner.

28 laps for half a day, can't complain too much.

Lost it going into the kink in the back straight a little hot. Probably could have caught it, but probably hit the wall trying as well. Spinning out was the safer option!

BRZ (left) vs FD (right)!

BRZ (top) vs FD (bottom).

Coffee stand! Life saver! Thanks Amabelle!

CAMS doing breath testing. Bit early for drinks, but I hope the ones from last night don't register!

Team BRZ/86 Garage. Great comfort and company

 Garage faces pit lane

Pit lane leads straight to the track. Efficient!

The paddock

Drooling over everything in this pic. The wheels, brakes and fresh semis!

That perfect colour scheme

... and fitment!

Pit crew arrives to help out

Hugs first before work

"What is this?"

"I help"

... still going...

Lunch is served. It was a whole lot of delicious!
Gone!

First session back after lunch and the brake pedal goes long into turn 1... Back to the pits I go. Brake fluid was MAX at the start of the day...

Chunks of pad material? That's not normal. Home time.

Spotted a clean S3

Mmmm more fancy brakes and wheels to drool at

Matching rears? Needs less brake-to-wheel clearance I reckon

An early good-bye Sandown! Thanks for bringing the good weather. I will bring better brakes next time.
